BESTeam Weekly Feature: Our Home to Yours
This week I had the priviledge of featuring the shop Our Home to Yours. What a great name that really sums up the spirit of the Etsy experience. This store is fairly new (started in January 2010) and was originally a mother/daughter team. Now they have welcomed another artist and friend to their shop and are quite the talented trio. There is something for everyone at this shop. There are vintage items, handpainted items, sewn items, crocheted items, etc. Just take a look at some of my faves to the right. What a great Apple Pouch. I love anything with apples and it is so summery and crisp and clean. Love the colors. The pouch was created by their new shop member. The Wedding Banner is great as well. It can be customized and is so unique. And the Crochet Wrist Cuffs with Button Closure are so my style. These would be perfect for fall and they come in different colors at such a great price. To see more great items check out their shop: http://www.etsy.com/shop/ourhometoyours or follow them on twitter: http://www.twitter.com/ourhometoyours or facebook: http://www.facebook.com/ourhometoyours or check out their blog: http://www.ourhometoyourscrafts.blogspot.com/

BESTeam Weekly Blog Feature: Elizabeth MD Jewelery Designs
I am one of the newest members of the BESTeam and this is my very first blog feature. What a great shop to start off with. This week I am featuring Elizabeth MD Jewelery Designs. This shop is full of skillfully handcrafted jewelry pieces. Elizabeth had an interest in fashion from an early age and pursued an education in Fashion Merchandising. Her interest in fashion turned into an interest in jewelry making and so in 2009 she started her shop. She enjoys the uniqueness of each piece bringing out the uniqueness in each individual woman. The pictures to the right are just a couple of the wonderful items that this shop has to offer. I love how modern and abstract the Geometric Pendant Necklace is and the wire work on the Simple Opulence Necklace adds the perfect touch. Oh and did I mention that she is running a buy one item get the second one half off every weekend in July. Hurry up and stop by her shop at http://www.etsy.com/shop/ElizabethMD or read her blog at http://elizabethmdesigns.blogspot.com/ or follow her on twitter at http://twitter.com/ElizabethMD.

A Little Information About Chakras
As I stated in the last blog, for those of you that are unfamiliar with the chakras, I said that I would write a post about them. This post will be a very simplified explanation of the chakras and what they are, but will give the reader a little overview about them.
Everything is made up of energy including your body. There are thought to be main places in the body where different types of energy commingle and these spots are known as chakras, “spinning wheel” or “vortex” in Sanskrit. There are seven main “spinning wheels”, they are the base chakra, sacral chakra, solar plexus chakra, heart chakra, throat chakra, brow chakra, and the crown chakra. They are located along the spine starting at the base and ending at the crown of the head. Chakras incorporate the energy of the spirit, body, and mind. Each chakra is associated with many things such as colors, animals, body functions, emotions, symbols, etc. The body and mind can be considered extensions of the chakras and an unbalanced chakra, which can be caused by stress among other things, can result in disease. Each chakra can be balanced through different techniques like exercise (yoga for example), meditation, chanting, color healing, etc. Balancing keeps us healthy emotionally and physically as well as spiritually.
I posted a link to the Daily Om which is a great source of daily inspirations and articles that are really great to check out. I also added the button for the Etsy team that I am a new member of and that team is called the Boosting Etsy Shops Team!

A Little Bit More About Me
Hi all,
I know that I have a little bio posted on this blog about what prompted me to start this jewelry collection, but I wanted to actually blog a bit more about myself and my jewelry. Well, for as long as I can remember I have always loved jewelry and loved creating it. Jewelry is so expressive and each piece makes its own statement. I love that. As well as jewelry, I am also interested in such new age techniques as creative visualization, positive thinking, meditation, and crystal healing. Gemstones and crystals are believed to be very beneficial to a person. Each one having its own characteristics and properties. So for balancing purposes these stones and crystals help to balance a person, especially stones that also benefit the chakras as well. For those of you unfamiliar with the seven chakras, I will blog about that later. There are meditations that can be done with different stones depending on where you want to be balanced. And besides being beneficial, gemstones are also beautiful. So I decided that I wanted to combine my two interests and I started creating jewelry that is stylish, but also benefits the overall well-being of the wearer. I am very proud of my products.
I am working on a new wire-wrapped septarian nodule pendant. I will show the process and updates on the project. This stone is so pretty. Pictures coming soon.
